The Comparison of the Edge Detection Methods in the Determination of Yarn Hairiness through Image Processing

In this study, an image processing approach for the determination of yarn hairiness was presented. Yarn images taken under microscope were examined in MATLAB software. Seven different edge detection algorithms used order to separate hairs from body accurately. textural properties obtained compared with Zweigle test results. The best results Sobel and Prewitt methods. findings have indicated that there stronger correlation values methods between indices four features.
